Weekend Writing Warriors: 2 June

So I announced I was back to posting for Weekend Writing Warriors, then I missed a couple of weeks! I will blame WordPress for one week — apparently WP sites were being hacked and they disabled logging in. Convenient. But the other week was all me. Anyway, I’m trying to get back on track!

I’ve been using snippets from my WIP currently called STOPPING BULLETS. My main character is a young woman, Justine, with a talent for stopping bullets and moving other things with her mind. She lives a secretive life to avoid becoming a lab rat somewhere. But her secret isn’t going to stay secret much longer.

I’ll continue from my last post in mid-May, where Quinn insisted what happened was impossible and Justine tried to shoo him off with a reminder to be grateful for being alive. (For the full story so far, see my past SSS posts! The first one is here.) For context, the final line of that last post was “I’m leaving and so are you.”

Here are the next eight!

All this talking was going to get me in trouble. I started walking towards the street.
Footsteps. A hand landed on my shoulder.
“Do I know you?”
I thought my heart would jump out of my chest. I turned my head away as I shrugged my shoulder loose and kept walking. Once on the street, Quinn wouldn’t cause a scene.

This is a work in progress, so with that in mind, I welcome your comments!
