I know I missed last week, but I’m back with another snippet from my WIP for the weekly Weekend Writing Warriors! If you want to know more about this blog hop, click the link or the logo to read about it and get your link listed.
I’ve been posting from my WIP, currently called STOPPING BULLETS. The main character is a young woman, Justine, with a talent for stopping bullets and moving other things with her mind. She lives a secretive life to avoid becoming a lab rat somewhere. But her secret isn’t going to remain a secret much longer.
To update: two weeks ago Justine was mulling over whether Quinn would show up at the diner at his regular time after what had happened the night before (when she’d saved his life). (For the full story so far, see my past Six Sentence Sunday posts! The first one is here.) We ended the last snippet with “…and he was a detective. Was my anonymity blown?”
Did a little snipping to get this down to eight sentences, but it has most of the original.
Well, here’s the next eight! Was it time to leave town? I’d been so careful for so long.I’d thought this time… I’d lasted three years here. Despite everything, the place had grown on me. Some of the people, too. I even had a cat now. For the first time I could remember, I didn’t want to leave.
Work in progress here, but I’d love to know what you think!
