Six Sentence Sunday: My first post!

I’ve decided to join the many authors who participate in #sixsunday. It’s just what it sounds like: I post six sentences from my work on my blog. That’s it! Follow the link in the caption if you’re interested in participating.

This excerpt is from my WIP STOPPING BULLETS (which awaits a better title!). My main character is a young woman with a talent for stopping bullets and moving other things with her mind. She lives a secretive life to avoid becoming an experiment in a lab somewhere.

I was tired of being prey, though I hardly remembered a time when I wasn’t. Always on the move, living in the shadows, on the edge of life. Would this always be my normal?

I stepped out onto the sidewalk of Third Avenue and breathed in the scents and sights of Manhattan. After the glare of Vee’s Diner, the neon and headlights on the street fell easier on the eyes. The sidewalk was crowded.

This is hardly a finalized work, so with that in mind, feel free to comment!

Well done for “biting the bullet” lol. That’s an intriguing idea you have there and a good six sentence snip to whet our appetites. Best of luck with your story and with finding the title you like (which I sometimes find the hardest part of writing a book!)

Thanks, ManicScribbler! Glad you like it! I appreciate you stopping by. And I agree, those titles can be as hard as writing the whole thing.

    Wonderful picture!
